Classic Control

The primary objective of this course is to equip participants with the theoretical foundations and practical, hands-on skills required to design, wire, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical control panels. The course bridges the gap between traditional electromechanical logic (contactors and relays) and modern solid-state motor control technologies (Soft Starters and VFDs), ensuring trainees are fully prepared for real-world industrial environments.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

Identify, test, and safely integrate fundamental control components, including contactors, thermal overload relays, and timers.
Read, interpret, and draw standard industrial power and control schematic diagrams.
Design and wire motor control logic for single, multiple, and multi-location motor operations.
Implement advanced reduced-voltage starting methods, including Star-Delta transitions and rotor-resistance stepping, to manage high inrush currents.
Wire and configure dynamic motor control systems, including Forward/Reverse logic.
Install, program, and operate modern solid-state motor controllers, specifically Soft Starters and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including analog speed control and cascading (multiplexing) logic.
Automate industrial processes by integrating environmental sensors such as limit switches, pressure switches, and liquid level float switches.
Systematically troubleshoot, isolate, and repair electrical faults within complex live control panels using multimeters and safe diagnostic practices.
